We all know the story of the three little pigs. One builds a straw house, the other from sticks, and the third built a brick house. The first two houses will collapse easily, but the brick house stands strong, showing the importance of hard work and choosing the right building material for your structure.
What to consider when choosing materials for designing your home – says the design and architecture studio ZIKZAK.
A brick house can stand for more than 100 years. It will perfectly survive severe bad weather with hurricane winds and frost. And in the heat you will not feel discomfort.
Durability and frost resistance
There is a special strength marking:
• The letter M (from 75-300) – withstand load per square meter;
• The letter F (from 15-100) – means the number of freeze and thaw cycles without damaging the brick.
The higher this marking, the heavier the brick will be. For the walls of two- and three-story houses, the M100 and M125 brands are suitable. For the foundation and plinth, markings M150 and M175 are suitable.
For areas with a warmer climate, F15 is enough, for cold ones – F25.
Walls made of ceramic blocks
Ceramoblock is an eco-friendly material that consists of a fired mixture of clay mixed with sawdust. Such a house can stand for many years, while it is possible to make it multi-storey (margin of safety, allows). The owners of such houses do not need to worry about their health or the health of their loved ones, and the thermal insulation properties of ceramic blocks are similar to those of bricks.
